Love is a solitary thing
There are the lover and the beloved, but these two come from different countries. Often the beloved is only a stimulus for all the stored-up love which has lain quiet within the lover for a long time hitherto. And somehow every lover knows this. He feels in his soul that his love is a solitary thing. He comes to know a new, strange loneliness and it is this knowledge which makes him suffer. So...

Ce qu'on entend sur la montange...
I love Victor Hugo, and I like studying romanticism from a French perspective… but...

What does it say about me that I find this funny?
I laughed a lot while reading this entire list though.  From The Beast’s 50 Most Loathsome Americans of 2010:  1) You Charges: Your brain’s been cobbled together over millions of years of blind evolution and it shows. You’re clumsy, stupid, weak and motivated by the basest of urges. Your MO is both grotesquely selfish and unquestionably deferential to questionable authority. You’re not in...

It's a good feeling...
To walk into a classroom and realize, yes. This IS what I want to do. For now anyway, this is EXACTLY what I want to do. It feels good to do something I’m good at… it’s been a while. But I’m pretty good at teaching, or at least, I feel comfortable doing it, and that’s really nice.  It’s funny though… high school is a strange, strange world. I can see why...

I love coffee.
This morning it’s coffee brewed Italian style, with a little hand-frothed milk and homemade vanilla. I’m clearly missing my european tall espressos. Mmmm, delish. Also, I still listen to Bon Iver on winter mornings, and it is still perfect.
